Do you exercise every day? We know exercise lowers blood pressure, alleviates stress, lowers
LDL (the bad cholesterol), improves concentration, and prolongs life. Hold up
your right hand if you do some form of exercise at least three times a week. I
don’t see many hands except for the lady at the top of the page. She’s got TWO
hands up. Okay, guys and gals, listen up. Dr. Clem is worried. Pay attention to
these tips. First, give it priority by
scheduling it in your smart phone.
*Decide which days of the week you’ll
exercise and how many minutes to spend. Keep your exercise appointment as you
would any other crucial appointment.
*Find a buddy. When you do it with
someone else, you’re more motivated.
*Consider morning exercise. As the
day goes on, something pops up that takes high priority. End result: no
exercise that day.
*Sign up for an exercise class, like aerobics,
yoga, tai chi, or zumba. Walking and golf are great exercise. *Think about it.
No expense for a personal trainer.
*Don’t forget the little things that
are exercise. Walking to work, using stairs instead of an escalator or
elevator, and parking further away from your car or home. Think about it. Exercise
doesn’t require a trip to the fitness center.
*Find some moving sport that’s new and
exciting. This doesn’t include opening and closing the refrigerator door.
*Have a pair of athletic shoes in
your car or workplace.
*Keep a record of your workout time. This
shows your progress.
*Include a family members or friend in
your workout.
*Shoot Dr. Clem a reply if you got
ideas or questions.
Quotes for the day:
Energy and persistence conquer all things. -Benjamin Franklin
I've missed more than 9,000
shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games 26 times, I've been trusted to
take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again
in my life. And that is why I succeed. -Michael
Jordan
